On a local radio talk show today, there was discussion on how the type of pizza topping you choose, reflects the type of person you are.
I would like to take this one step further...could it be that the pizza topping might also represent a secret desire or longing, if you will?
I happen to like goat cheese on my pizza...perhaps this is an expression of my secret desire to run away to a nunnery, climb to the top of the Alps and sing "The Hills are Alive".
Or could it simply mean I like tasty cheese.
Or maybe, just maybe...it means I am a person who likes to be a little different, even daring...I don't just go for the mundane mozzarella. And you know what? It's true about me...I've never been one to blindly follow the crowd just to conform.
So...I'm curious...what is your favorite pizza topping and what do you think this says about you?
(Now I know this seems rather silly and whimsical...but we might be onto something here...so, please, just go with it).
This is an addendum: I notice that not one man has responded to this post...now I know there are at least 1 or 2 men who saunter by here periodically...I realize the topic is not political, or sexy, or doesn't have to do with heavy machinery...but come on...isn't there a guy out there who can fess up to his secret longings and desires or personality traits?
What a bunch of light-weights.

Oooh, goat cheese. I LOVE goat cheese. I have never ordered it on pizza. I must try that. I have had Feta on pizza and it was yummy.
My favorite pizza toppings are pepperoni and mushrooms. I was raised not eating pork and we do not generally buy it, but every now and I order it because I really love it!
I'll take double cheese that ooooooozzzzzzes -- I LOVE that.
(does that mean I'm extra-cheesy?)
Mmmm, goat cheese, delicious. I am also a big mushroom fan. I love all types of mushrooms, especially portobello. But generally, if I can experiment, I will go for the Tomato and Goat cheese, or maybe like Stacey, a Greek variety. Or with artichokes. I think Trader Joe's carries frozen artichoke pizzas. I usually buy the asparagus pizza for my husband and kids.
Stacey...If you don't mind buying the frozen kind, I think you can find pizzas with goat cheese on it at Whole Foods, and definitely at Trader Joes.
Okay, so now I know what to serve when you all come over for pizza...but only Rebecca followed the instructions...what does the topping say about you? (and no Pearl, saying you're extra-cheesy doesn't count)
Oh, and I also love anchovies. But I almost never get to order them because most people HATE them (except for my 4-yr. old).
I guess that means I am rather salty!
P.S. I think TX is the only state in the Union w/out Trader Joe's! Sigh.
Hmmm, let's see, portobellos, artichokes, goat cheese...perhaps that I am curious, adventurous and an international soul.
Stacey...how wild, my husband was eating sardines the other night and my son, who is almost four, asked to try it (my daughter and I just looked at each other and made a yucky face.) He loved them. Perhaps we should introduce the two of them (the kids). Between the fish and talking about farts, they would have lots to giggle about.
Sweettooth: I love portobellos so much. They are heavenly. I love ALL mushrooms, though. And I love sardines and so does my 4-yr. old. I also love lox and sushi. Yum.
Mia: Corn on pizza. No way!!
Much better girls...now you're talkin'.
If we can just get a man to fess up...
Oh, Neil, you can't fool us...even Superman was boring Clark Kent some of the time.
I'm with Ne-il. I prefer the plain pizza. But if push comes to shove I'll take eggplant on top.
I must have a secret longing to eat non-kosher meat/pizza.
