What made you think of St. Elmo's Fire? Boy I feel so old watching that - and I never knew Andie MacDowell was in the movie. As for the sax and yes, many of the songs from then, had that in it. Maybe leftover from the more sutry jazz from the 70's.
Boy this brings back memories.

Hi all, I saw St. e.F. on t.v. one day last week, heard that sax, and realized that's what all the movies of the 80's sounded like :)
LOVE this movie... and love sax's in the music - any music! :)
